handmade and each card was painstakingly painted. The evolution of

Jack:
If you take a closer look at the Jack card from each of the suits you
will find that each has a subtly different hairdo. Only Jack of
Spades and Jack of Hearts sport a mustache. Each holds something

King:

the King of hearts is holding a weapon behind his head. With the King
of Diamond you will observe that the he is holding an ax instead of a
sword.

will find that the Ace of Spades is designed in a totally different
manner. It was originally designed in that manner to show that tax on
